“On my arrival to site I was told that contractors were on site to remove the tank, I had previously been notified that the job was to take place today and received all necessary paperwork. On meeting Steve and Deborah we had a discussion about the job, it was clear that Steve had done this type of thing many times before and that they were serious about safety. The area was cordoned off and nothing was done until our electrician had disconnected the tank and confirmed dead. They preceded to identify the amount of residual fuel left in the tank and followed procedures to drain it down.

The lift of the tank onto the rear of the vehicle was a very smooth operation, the vehicle mounted hi ab was an impressive piece of kit. Effective communication took place throughout their time on site. I am pleased to say this was a very well managed job of what could potentially have been hazardous situation for the health and safety and the environment.
